A Rose for my new Baby

This rose is a miniature rose. The plant was given to us when our newest baby was born a little over a year ago. At the time, the rose bush was in a little pot, and only about 4 inches tall.

I took this plant out into our yard, and planted it. My newest daughter is now abotu 2 feet tall, and the rose bush is almost exactly the same height and covered with beautiful rosees.

Just look at this flower! Isn’t it beautiful?

Spring is definitely here

If you have not taken the time to go outside and look at all the blossoming plants…you should.

Spring is definitely here and all that it brings is really a pleasure… if you are one that notices such things.

Recently our family went to the park for a bit of rest and relaxation. The day was enjoyable as we had  a cool spring breeze blowing to keep us feeling light and perky. The grasses are all this almost florescent green, very bright and like something you would see in a painting.

We played kick ball with our teens, and our little one, Alyssa, 1 year old, would do her version of it… mostly she would pick up the ball and wobble off with a huge grin! You could tell by looking at her, in her eyes, which were glowing, that she thought she was really doing some thing by stealing our soccer ball away.

My daughter was excited to see her playing, and having so much fun.. .but my son Christian, was upset that she was stealing our ball, as he is so serious about getting that ball and keeping control of it.

We saw newly blossomed Tulips of all colors, yellow, red, white and purple… we saw Crapemyrtles blooming everywhere and butterflies were springing from flower to flower doing what ever butterflies do…..

We had a great time.

I wish you had been there.

Possibly we can plan a day together in the park before the days turn to summer heat.

More Snow March 7th 2008

As I looked out my family room window, I could see the soft flakes of snow gently falling from the sky. Along the horizontal boards of the fence an inch of snow had gathered and the amount was growing. A fat robin landed and my thoughts turned to the day before, when the temperature was nearing eighty degrees and this very same robin was hopping around under our oak tree in our front yard. This snow is a very welcome sight as we have not seen snow for around 15 years. What a pleseant change.

I wanted my daughter Megan to see this. She was at school as it was only 12 noon. I wanted to call the school and have her come to the phone, but when I phoned them, they said it can be done only in emergencies.

Alyssa Walking, and she started cruising the furniture at about 10 months and by 11 months, she was walking like a champ!!! She was good walking in the house, but took a bit of time to learn how to walk on uneven ground outside… she fell on her nose a few times!  She is so cute to watch when she tries to stand up.

Christian Loves to Play Soccer

ChristianSoccerChristian loves to play soccer, and at 14 years old, he can sure use the exercise. Thank God for the great Athletic Program we have in our area as the school he is in offers little in the way of athletics. If you are not on the Football team, or Basketball… then you are out of luck as far as sports. Christian is also in Choir and loves to sing. He has been working hard on his singing also. We really enjoy hanging out and watching the great soccer games.

Megan and Soccer Spring 2008

Megan SoccerMegan loves to play soccer, and at 13 years old now, she is pretty darn athletic! She talks about how she wishes the coach would not make her play the whole game.. but her team only has 1 extra player, and that is if all the kids show up each game. She is lucky to be getting all this excercise as at her school, all have to try out to be in soccer. This athletic program is great for the kids.
